How to Install a Shower to a Freestanding Bath? A Step-by-Step Guide
Adding a shower to a freestanding baths in Perth requires skills, precision and expertise. Here’s a step by step guide to perform the task effortlessly.
- At first, you need to switch off the baths’ shut-off valves and ensure there is not even a single drip.
- Get hold of an adjustable wrench to disconnect the water lines and those of the faucets too.
- Next, you need to connect all the subsidiary parts of your tub-and shower-assembly without attaching them to the freestanding tub. While performing this step, make sure you do not attach new faucets to the assembly.
- Add a small quantity of plumber’s putty at the back of the faucet handles. Don’t panic, as these handles won’t be visible. Once you set them in place, tighten the nuts with the adjustable wrench and then connect both the hot and cold water pipelines. Scrape off the excess putty to give your task a flawless finish.
- In the next step, use a good-quality tape and wrap it all over the edges of the shower rise. Wrapping the tape is essential to ensure smooth water flow from one corner of the showerhead to the other. Once done, place the shower riser to the original position and ensure it's at the same level.
- Now, you need to add the brackets and ensure they are properly mounted into the wall dents. Assemble the shower curtain rings and fix the backside of the rings to the wall bracket.
Lastly, attach the showerhead to the shower riser, open the shut-off valves that were shut earlier, turn on water and you are ready to go!
